Nuit Blanche 2024: a high-flying show at Hangar Y in Meudon (92)

On Saturday June 1, 2024, Nuit Blanche returns for its 22nd edition in Paris and the Île-de-France region. This year, the cultural event is organized around the theme of Overseas France. An inspiring subject... Especially for the artists at Hangar Y, in Meudon, who are presenting their work during this unique nocturne.

What do you mean, you don't know about Nuit Blanche? Here's a quick refresher course: launched in 2002 by the City of Paris, this cultural event aims to showcase contemporary creativity by bringing art to the streets. Concerts, shows, ephemeral installations, exhibitions, museum open-houses... Over the course of an entire night, the curious enjoy hundreds of free events throughout the capital and surrounding towns.

This year, Hangar Y in Meudon joins the party. Inaugurated in 2023, this former airship hangar is now an art center dedicated tocontemporary art. With its singular architecture, the Hangar Y is a very special setting for works of art that are just as astonishing and inspiring.

Here is the program for the Nuit Blanche at the Hangar Y in Meudon:

• 6pm and 8pm - PERFORMANCE "LES TRACEURS"
  Duration: 35 min approx.
  In two exceptional performances, highliner Nathan Paulin defies the laws of gravity and reconnects with the aerial history of Hangar Y. In the park, the tightrope walker soars above the Bassin de Chalais. Faced with the perspective designed by André Le Nôtre in the 17th century, a poetic musical journey through history unfolds. Nathan Paulin then sets off across the nave of the listed hangar. On the ground, accompanied by the sound of the tightrope walker's voice, a dozen acrobats perform lifts and aerobatics. This choreography, suspended between heaven and earth, underlines the intimate relationship these athletes have with their sport or art, defying the laws of gravity and touching the eternal human dream of flight.
  Important: these performances are subject to weather conditions. They may be cancelled if conditions for the performances are not optimal.
  
  
• 5 TO 10 PM - EXHIBITION
  During Nuit Blanche, the Nave of Hangar Y, the Rayon Jouets exhibition and the art trail in the park are accessible free of charge.
