After the story of a pot-producing family in "Family Business", creator and screenwriter Igor Gotesman (revealed by "Five") presents "Fiasco", his new series co-written by Pierre Niney, to be discovered on Netflix from April 30, 2024. The story of a film shoot gone wrong... Discover our review.

The Five gang is back together! Seven years after the release of the cult comedy, Igor Gotesman, Pierre Niney and François Civil reunite in Fiasco, a series to be discovered on Netflix from April 30, 2024. This 7-episode comedy mini-series promises laughter and disarray in the ruthless world of cinema.

Raphaël Valande, played by Pierre Niney, is embarking on the ambitious adventure of directing his first feature film, a historical epic paying tribute to his grandmother, a heroic resistance fighter. From prehistory to the D-Day landings, via the Viking era, his project seems as grandiose as it is eclectic. However, it wasn't long before the shoot turned into a veritable fiasco. Between technical unforeseen events and clashes of egos, a saboteur within the team seems determined to derail the production.

Fiasco promises a scathing satire of the film world, exploring with humor the often chaotic behind-the-scenes of moviemaking. Beyond the laughs, this series is a reflection on the passion, perseverance and dreams often put to the test in the film industry.

Our review of Fiasco on Netflix:

So, what's the value of this series imagined by Igor Gotesman and Pierre Niney? This comedy aims to be as confusing as it is funny, and succeeds in making people laugh at a concept of"cringe" humor, which is very awkward at first (you have to get past the first few episodes), but which ends up hitting the nail on the head, with a beautiful climax at the end of the season.

It's a very particular kind of humor, designed to make viewers feel uncomfortable, and it's particularly successful! Why? Well thought-out writing and, above all, extremely accurate acting, in keeping with its intended purpose. Casting-wise, it's all very good: Pierre Niney is brilliant in the role of an introverted, insecure director, Géraldine Nakache is hilarious in the role of the first assistant director, Vincent Cassel is a great Vincent Cassel, and François Civil performs to perfection in the role of the best friend who's a bit of a pushover... All in all, the cast complements each other very well, creating a series of zany situations.

And that's one of the series' strong points: these completely crazy situations are interwoven in this extremely well-crafted story, generating misunderstanding after misunderstanding. It all builds to a crescendo, culminating in the final episode, where everything explodes, and which we won't say anything about here (you'll have to discover it to understand it). It's very dynamic, very (too?) fast-paced... There's never a dull moment. We'll let you be the judge. We also appreciate the format, filmed in the style of a making-of DVD. A rather novel and highly entertaining approach, allowing for a whole host of things.

Special mention must also go to Louise Coldefy, as Ludivine, a make-up artist with breath that could wake the dead, and Pascal Demolon, as a jilted producer. We just love it! All you have to do is make up your own mind.
