Nuits des Forêts 2024 takes place from June 7 to 16. As every year, the forests of the Ile-de-France region open their doors to the curious, and await them with a program designed for adults and children alike.
Fans of flora and fauna and the simply curious are expected in Seine-et-Marne for 10 days of activities of all kinds: forestry walks, workshops for the little ones, demonstrations, guided tours, canoe trips, meetings, picnics, storytelling in the forest.... There's something for every family.

How is a peri-urban forest managed in the Paris region? Through the testimony of the
forestry technician in charge of the Brou regional forest, you will discover how the manager meets the daily challenge of reconciling the various uses and functions of the forest: renewing woodlands while adapting to global warming, preserving the biodiversity of the forest environment, its habitats and ecosystems, welcoming the public in complete safety while offering a space for relaxation and recreation... all subjects that will be addressed during this visit. From tree to paper, how is a forest managed? Before the workshop, a walk in the forest will introduce you to the trees that make it up, to the way it's maintained... all your questions will be welcome! Then, we'll learn how to create a sheet of paper with just used leaves (which you can even personalize by inserting flowers and seeds!). Bring a paper bag, one or two tea towels, a snack and clothes suitable for the walk. A mosquito/tick repellent is also recommended.

The activity begins with a walk in the forest, in search of various animal clues: footprints, feathers, pellets, meal remains, excrement... By participating in the construction of a food chain, you'll understand that the forest is a fragile place that must be protected. As an added bonus, during the Nuits des Forêts festival, an equestrian ranger will be on hand to introduce you to his job.
