Ha! Paris FIAC!!!! While lovers of art and collectors will meet with the International Art Fair at the Grand Palais from October 18, 2017 at 11 a.m., general public and art enthusiasts walk the streets and gardens of the French capital for work installations in Paris.
If usually the Tuileries Gardens, the Plants Gardens and the Cité de la Mode are the venues bringing together FIAC visitors, this year, you should all head to the Petit Palais to discover the 40 works and installations for free and just across the Grand Palais.
This year, Petit Palais curator and manager Christophe Leribault has been helped by Eva Wittocx (Louvain museum) to choose the invited artists.
So, for this second edition, FIAC On Site of the Petit Palais will display works by Peter Buggenhout, Anthony Caro, Claude Closky, Johan Creten, Ida Ekblad, Anna Fasshaur, Laurent Graso, Sheila Hicks, Justin Matherly, Matt Mullican, Richard Nona, Falke Pisano, Enrique Ramirez, Hans Schabus, Joel Shapiro, Alina Szapocznikow, Antoni Tapies, Wang Wei and Erwin Wurm.
And to accompany this symbolical opening of art in the city, the door linking Grand Palais Salon d’Honneur and the Petit Palais will be exceptionally open every evening from 6:30 p.m. with performances around poetry and languages mixing fictions and scientific facts as part of the new festival of Performances Parades for FIAC.
