For the first time in the world, this exhibition returns to almost a century of artistic dynamics imagined in the 1930s by two Cleveland teenage boys and creators of Superman – a groundbreaking character – Joe Schuster and Jerry Siegel.
Because Superman was the first in a family of 150 Superheroes he takes pride of place in the exhibition featuring many plates, old animated movie clips, costumes from different periods as well as artworks from movies produced on the hero’s life!
For this exhibition on DC Comics heroes, over 250 original and historic plates, more than 300 cinema research drafts and several iconic film costumes and props have been lent for the Superheroes fans’ greatest pleasure.
This exhibition, focused on Superman and Batman, will unveil DC legend’s trade secrets, a whole range of symbols (costumes, looks, sets, symbols and emblems) which are the reason for all these Superheroes’ fame. It will return on the origin of the genre and a century of artistic dynamic from 1938 to nowadays.
Authentic costumes created for great DC movies are waiting for you. For instance, the legendary costume worn by Christopher Reeve in Superman or Lynda Carter’s famous Wonder Woman costume worn in 1970 are displayed. Go and discover authentic costumes and props created for Zack Snyder’s, Tim Burton’s, Joel Schumacher’s and Christopher Nolan’s movies as well as those used for the highly-anticipated movie Wonder Woman out in June 2017.
