White Night – Nuit Blanche 2017: Ruth Ewan’s Bal Pop’ at the 104

Published by · Published on September 28th, 2017 at 06:53 p.m.
The Centquatre (104), located in Paris 19th arrondissement, regularly welcomes the Bal Pop’ to make everyone dance while bringing public dances back to life. For the White Night, on October 7, 2017, Bal Pop’ artistic direction is entrusted to artist Ruth Ewan and gives a political taste to the whole.

We love dancing at the Bal Pop’ once a month so much: the idea is to party for free in the nave of the 104, decorated on the occasion with fairy lights, garlands and featuring a refreshment area. In terms of music, various orchestras usually play javas, tangos, accordion music and other current hit songs.

This time, for the White Night, the Bal Pop’ is customized by Ruth Ewan and offers a “ball for those trying to change the world”, an ultra-current theme in these times of manifestations. Many pop culture hits – all supported by political ideas (sometime forgotten) – will be played. La Cucaracha, Proud To Be Black by Run-DMC, Clandestino by Manu Chao, Born This Way by Lady Gaga… You may not know but these legendary tunes brought hope for a better world.

From 7 p.m., the entrance is free and open to all – as usual. Don’t hesitate to bring your children, grandmother, Sunday’s mates… Here everyone is welcomed!

PS: for the White Night, the exhibition Continua Sphères ENSEMBLE is accessible for free from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
