From October 18 to December 18, 2017, Paris Centre Pompidou offers to experience a project that goes beyond the simple principle of exhibition. Get to the first floor, Galerie 3 (a place visible from the outside) to go and meet with about fifteen artists’ groups.
What if modern art was something else than exhibitions? Since artists are alive, since many of them break down barriers between arts and practice various forms of performances, what about offering them a space where they’re free to create while talking with the public visiting them?
This is what offers the Centre Pompidou for a while this fall: Cosmopolis is “a new platform for the exploration of artistic practices based on the gaining and sharing of knowledge” that takes over the museum’s Galerie 3 and invites about fifteen groups from across the globe to take part in the event.
Basically, if you go in-situ and by chance, you’ll discover art installations and you’re likely to attend a living moment of the event. Indeed, the program is full of workshops, talks, conferences, lectures, debates and performances.
The least shy of us could even talk with artists and weave a link with this very unique venue.
The offer is as thrilling and modern as can be: well done!
