Event at the Arts Déco de Paris. Come and admire the finest jewels of the 20th century in a beautiful exhibition from March 7 to July 1, 2018. In all, the exhibition brings together 250 jewels straight from the collection of Diane Venet, a great collector of artists' jewelry who considers them miniature works of art!

Lovers of the very finest jewels have a date with the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris for a very fine exhibition, from March 7 to July 1, 2018. For 4 months, the Parisian museum presents the exhibition Bijoux d'artistes, de Picasso à Jeff Koons, featuring 200 jewels from Diane Venet's personal collections.

A "Etre" pendant by Ben, a "Compression" pendant by César, a brooch by Georges Braque, a brooch by Keith Haring, some of our artists have created jewelry in the image of their iconic works. This exhibition is a gold mine, and we just want to make copies of the jewels and wear them.

It's unanimous, with Arts Déco jewelry, modern jewelry, kinetic jewelry, Pop jewelry, etc., we're in for an eyeful. All her artists have "tested" themselves on jewelry, seen more as works of art/sculpturesto be worn on oneself than as the jewels of goldsmiths meant to sublimate the body.

Her collection began by chance, when her husband wrapped a silver wire around her finger. "My passion for art jewelry was born THE day Bernar amused himself by wrapping a thin silver rod around my left ring finger to make a wedding ring... This gesture, touching in its spontaneity, had another effect on me: it introduced me to the little-known world of unique art jewelry, precious for its rarity and the symbolic charge that often lies behind its creation".

For 30 years now, Diane Venet has been collecting artists' jewelry, seeking to understand the history behind each object, and treasuring the memories of her encounters with the artists whenever possible, invaluable advice she shared in 2011 in her book Bijoux d'artistes, de Picasso à Jeff Koons.

We can't wait to see more of these artists' jewelry/objects d'art!

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
