Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson didn’t use the word “move” to tell the press it changes house but “develop” since the museum has a new venue, a new ambition and a new team.
“2018: the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson develops”: goodbye impasse Lebouis located in Montparnasse neighborhood and which building covers four floors has never been a place of life or work for Henri Cartier-Bresson and his wife Martine Franck and hello rue des Archives in full heart of Marais neighborhood!
The Fondation sets in a former garage converted by architects from the Novo agency and features a research library and greater archives in addition to the exhibition areas. The emphasis is put on reception and mediation.
The programming is like the one already offered, that means it offers ancient and modern photographs exhibitions. From November 2, 2017, the general management is entrusted to François Hébel, former head of Magnum Photos agency and Recontres d’Arles, founder of Foto/industria Bologe and Mois de la photo du Grand Paris (what a big name!).
In short, many changes for this major foundation!
