From March 9 to August 26, 2018, Paris Musée Cernuschi presents a wonderful exhibition entitled “Parfums de Chine” [Fragrances of China], offering to explore the history of China through smells and from the 3rd century before our era to the 19th century.

Open your eyes, this spring will be Chinese and nothing else! Musée Cernuschi offers one of this year’s most charming exhibitions by focusing on China and its love for smells. About 130 art and archeology items have been especially gathered, spanning over twenty centuries of traditions.

At the heart of the exhibition: incense. Used for thousand years during religious rituals as well as to perfume houses and create singular atmospheres, this olfactive accessory appears on many objects and art works. This is what show ceramics, drawings, bronzes and canvases from Shanghai Museum’s collections we can admire with our eyes and noses, should you have some imagination.

But not only! Evolving around 5-themed and chronological parts, the exhibition also offers varied experience that are mostly olfactive. Indeed, for the occasion, the museum enjoys the collaboration with Dior Parfums and exclusive creations by its art director, François Demachy. Great, isn’t it?

We run there, with or without kids!
