A night under the sign of the horse… Chantilly offers a “nighttime tour” of its great stables as part of the Museum Night held on May 19, 2018. On the menu, a free tour of the Great Stables and the Museum of the Horse as well as activities for children and adults.
From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., visitors can roam around the 15 rooms of the Cour des Remises of the Great Stables and gaze at over 200 items related to the horse universe, its history as well as at many works of art. A chronological tour that lets horse enthusiasts dive into 1000 years of history about the domestication of equine animas, varied horse races in the world and even the development of harness in the course of time.
In terms of shows and activities, horse riders of the troupe will present four highlights: a show around donkeys and ponies at 7:30 p.m., a dressage demonstration at 8:15 p.m., followed by a Garrocha act, a sidesaddle rider demonstration at 9 p.m. and finally at 9:45 p.m., the free work is given pride of place since visitors can notice the relationship the rider and the horses have between one another. Other activities are planned to complete this oh-so interesting pictures and delight kids and grown-ups.
