For four months, from October 10, 2018 to February 10, 2019, the Arab World Institute brings the thousand-year-old cities back to life with a virtual journey from Palmyra to Mosul.
Thanks to digitalization technologies, we can discover the architectural richness of cities such as Mosul and Aleppo as well as Palmyra and Leptis Magna prestigious archaeological sites, symbols of the world heritage and the multicultural history of the Middle-Eastern civilizations, now threatened, damaged, sacked or destroyed.
Think, you can visit Aleppo (Syria) and Mosul (Irak) as well as now disappeared archeological sites such as Palmyra and Leptis Magno, symbol of the world Heritage and the multicultural history of the Middle-Eastern civilizations.
Created in partnership with UNESCO and supported by Iconem and Ubisoft, entertainment world leader, the exhibition will enjoy giant projections including some covering 360°; in addition to videos and testimonies of the on-site populations, to make us live a compelling experience.
You get it now, more than an average exhibition, Cités Millénaires is a manifesto. By the way, “dynamic meditation tables” allow to better locate the buildings, the neighborhoods or the damaged monuments and recreate history with archives pictures and animated photographs.
