You think you know everything about Picasso? You’re wrong. From April 5 to July 28, 2019, the Musée de l’Armée invites you to discover a facet of Picasso you may not know about thanks to the Picasso and War exhibition.

Throughout his life, Picasso has experienced major conflicts, from Cuba independence war to the Spanish-American war and to the war in Vietnam. The Picasso and War exhibition will explore how these wars undoubtedly influenced and fed Picasso’s work.

For instance, WWI remains quite absent from the master’s work. But the Spanish war seems to have particularly affected him. Everyone knows his monumental painting, Guernica, an emblematic work known worldwide.

The Picasso and War exhibition will focus on analyzing the bonds between Picasso and his time period’s conflicts in a chronological way but also a chrono-thematic fashion.

You can already expect paintings by the master as well as private archive documents as well as press articles, photographs and many more items.

One of the Parisian exhibitions you don’t want to miss in 2019!
