About sixty masterpieces gathered in one exhibition… It’s happening from March 20 to July 21, 2019 at Paris Musée Maillol with the La Collection Bührle exhibition.
Emil Georg Bührle is a German art collector who – between 1951 and 1956 – collected over 600 works of art. For the first time in Paris, a part of this collection, one of the world’s most prestigious exhibition, is displayed and gathered at Paris Musée Maillol.
The exhibition offers a panorama of French art from the 19th century to the early 20th century and we walk our way through the movements of modern art: big names of impressionism (Manet, Monet, Pissarro, Degas, Renoir, Sisley) and post-impressionism (Cézanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec), the debuts of the 20th century with Les Nabis (Bonnard, Vuillard), the Fauves and the Cubists (Braque, Derain, Vlaminck) and the Ecole de Paris (Modigliani) to end with Picasso.
Expect to discover and gaze at masterpieces such as Degas Little Dancer of Fourteen Years (circa 1800) Monet Poppy Field Near Vetheuil (circa 1879), Cézanne The Boy in Red Vest (circa 1888/90) and even Van Gogh The Sower at sunset (1888).
One of 2019’s best exhibitions!
