A giant snail highlighting ecology and recycling through an installation by 29 artists. This is what travelling exhibition La Forêt Escargot offers us to discover from July 11 to October 25, 2020 in Malakoff.

Since November 23, 2019 Paris 14th arrondissement has been housing a giant snail. Following this summer's success at Place Stalingrad, La Forêt Escargot is back in Paris. This time, the travelling installation can be seen till October 25, 2020 in the Malakoff area in front of the Malakoff city hall, place du 11 novembre 1918.

Created by Inzouk Assoc, a non-profit association organizing cultural events related to street pictorial praxis, this uncommon installation highlights the work of 29 street artists. They’ve all agreed to collaborate to sculpt, paint and create something inside and outside to give birth to this Forêt Escargot.

Here are the 29 street artists who worked on the project:

If the tail of the snail has been created by EvazéSir, the shell has been painted by Michael Beerens. Inside, visitors can discover a giant totem by Nosbé as well as a rain of light floral suspensions by Mademoiselle Maurice. Children and adults will take a walk down memory lane with the panda by Doudou’Style and Mosko’s giraffes.

Like the whole installation, La Forêt Escargot invites to think about the environment. By choosing to recycle materials, La Forêt Escargot makes us wonder about what our waste will become and invites visitors to “understand that beautiful isn’t inseparable from new”.

To understand and enjoy the project, go for the guided tour, by signing up, on Thursdays and Saturdays. If you want to discover this collective and very poetic work, head to Malakoff city hall. We are looking forward to finding out its next destination.
