Set in Paris 3rd arrondissement, the Musée Picasso offers for the White Night – on Saturday October 5, 2019 – a very tantalizing experience. The invited cultural diversity is expected to quench your cultural thirst. On the menu? An exhibition, choreographic performances and a night-time tour for those who have signed up for the night race of the White Night.
For the record, the White Night is a cultural event letting museums open all night long and free of charge! This year, it’s David Fusillier who’s been entrusted with the art direction of the White Night. By inviting a hundred artists, Paris is turning into a gigantic art gallery.
At the Musée Picasso, the White Night starts at 6 p.m. with the opening of the Picasso, Magical Paintings exhibition. This is the occasion to discover a new aspect of the creation of the illustrious painter. As a matter of fact, this exhibition brings together paintings that art critic Christian Zervos has called “Magical Paintings”. These paintings are like UFOs in the artist’s creation, they mix very abstract cubism and strong surrealist influences! It’s still possible to be surprised by this artist we thought we knew well.
Then, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., enjoy an original performance by Yaïr Barelli. With “Sur l’interprétation – titre de l’instant”, embark on the creation as it is. Indeed, this choreographic performance is a real-time creation. It’s as much written and prepared as it is based on the interaction with the public and improvisation. Dare to be unpredictable!
Unfortunately, the Musée Picasso will close at 11 p.m. as it takes part in the Grande Traversée – this 10k run across Paris museums and monuments created by the White Night art director 2019.
The night will be as original as unpredictable, let’s be curious!
