The Palais de la Découverte presents Magnétique, an original exhibition about magnetism and its present and future application. The tour is interactive: through expériences, you can try yourself the effects of magnetism on items. From September 1 to November 29, 2020 meet different magnetism experts and discover the secrets of this fascinating scientific phenomenon.
Magnétique meditation area revolves around 5 zones. Each part of the exhibition is focusing on an aspect of magnetism, whether it’s its use, its role in our daily objects or future applications we could make. The zones include several small experiences allowing us to understand magnetism better and play with it. For instance, you can try the effect of your voice on ferrofluid and make it dance singing in the microphone.
The exhibition is created by the Institut Jean-Lamour, a unit research of the CNRS and the Université de Lorrain. Searchers from the institute expect you in January and February 2020 on the 1 chercheur, 1 manip stand. With them, you can be sure to learn a lot about how to create the future magnetic materials.
Even though, it’s didactic and very interactive, the exhibition suits the youngest one. The Palais de la Découverte recommends you book the Magnétique tour for children from 12 years old and more. This exhibition is one of the last before the museum moves out to the Parc André-Citroën.
The Magnétique exhibition and the De l'amour exhibition are part of the season on attraction set up by the Palais de la Découverte. In the museum's permanent meditations, discover the many other experiences on magnetism. Free conferences are also provided between February and March 2020 to learn more on the matter.
