The many drawings exhibited at the Petit Palais covers three centuries of the history of art, from the 16th century to the 19th. We find sketches by the most famous painters: Degas, David, Delacroix, Cézanne, Poussin, Toulouse-Lautrec… Art passionate can discover drawings and sketches that have led to masterpieces such as David’s Andromache Mourning Hector, Ingres’s Ossian’s Dream or even Le Brun’s drawings for Versailles decors.

In the Drawing Room is also the occasion to rediscover forgotten artists such as Laurent de La Hyre or Anne-Louis Girodet. The Prat collection is impressive because of the richness and fame of its works. Drawings displayed are not simple and average sketches, they are true masterpieces and are as powerful, technical, brilliant and emotional as paintings.
