Hubert Duprat has constituted a collection of curious works based on innovative techniques. The exhibition of Paris Museum of Modern Art gathers sculptures, photos, video clips, works refecting the years devoted to artistic research and seminal works.
For over 30 years, the contemporary artist is inspired by caddisflies’ larvae, a small insect that makes a cocoon of objects found in its environment. Hubert Duprat chose to give insects golden threads, pearls and other delicate pieces to see them build unique houses made by man and animal.
Duprat’s works are marked by this singularity, surprising and fascinating mixes. All along the exhibition, we discover minuscule or gigantic pieces, statues made of coral and bread crumb, polystyrene or quartz. The artist gives new shapes to his works and creates unexpected hybrids.
This retrospective is the occasion to discover a unique artist with groundbreaking experience at the Musée d’Art Moderne.
