Learn French history the fun way... That's what the Musée de l'Armée is offering with an exhibition on Napoleon. Entitled L'Epopée napoléonienne en figurines, it runs from March 28 to June 21, 2020, and invites children and their parents to discover the life of one of the world's best-known emperors through a multitude of lead figurines.

In all, some forty figurines, preserved in several private collections, are on display to visitors. These figurines represent"the most famous historical figures and the great generals of the Napoleonic epic, in their rich uniforms". The miniature portraits, all hand-crafted in three dimensions and inspired by portraits from the period, plunge you intoFrench history in an amusing way.

Divided into four sections, the tour features"the Consular Guard at the Tuileries in 1800, various figures of Napoleon I throughout his career, his close entourage (Marshal Lannes, General Daumesnil...), and a few richly dressed cavaliers (Prince de Salm...)". It's an opportunity to interest youngsters in French history, and to discover Napoleon' s life in a different way... And, of course, the opportunity to visit his tomb. Shall we go?
