The Louvre will reopen in December 2020. Let's enjoy Mona Lisa, the Apollon Gallery, Middle-Eastern, Greek, and Roman antiques, in a new tour. Planning to go for its reopening or during the Holiday season? The ticketing service is open!

If there were only one museum to visit amid the coronavirus virus, it is the Louvre. Following the health protocol, the museum has been low, moving from 50,000 visitors a day to 10,000 maximum!

The Louvre is one of the museums the most visited in the world, and for good reason, it enjoys some heritage gems including the famous Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo and Liberty Leading the People. To give you an idea, the Louvre includes 35,000 works displayed over 70,000sqm surface, naming 400 rooms, and 14km of corridors! If our maths are right, it would take 96 hours to fully visit the museum, that is to say 4 days.

And the soon to be a thousand-year-old monument covers all historic periods: Medieval Louvre, vestige of the former Middle-Aged fortress, as well as the Apollon Gallery, Napoleon III's apartments, vestiges of the Royal palace.

And the rooms features collections of antiques from the Middle East, Greece and Rome, Egyptian antiques, collections of Islamic arts, as well as European furtniture and art items, European and French sculptures from the Middle Ages to the 19th century, including a big part of the collection being devoted to French, Italian, Spanish, British and Northern European paintings. A genuine gold mine for history and art nerds.

When it reopens, you can enjoy the "Body and Soul", "Albrecht Altdorfer" and "The Advent of the Artist" exhibitions. Unfortunately, some rooms will remain closed, such as the rooms chronologically displaying Egyptian antiques, art items from the 19th century, terra cotta, bronze and ceramic collections from Greece and a part of the French painting collection.

The Louvre has also planned to reopen on December 16 (weekly closure on Tuesdays), and the ticketing service is open. In the meantime, the Louvre provides you with at-home entertainments.
