Art Paris, the yearly fair gathering all modern and contemporary art players has encountered many twists and turns for its edition 2020. First postponed, the fair has moved online, with a 100% digital version, Art Paris Digital, held from May 25 to 27.
But thanks to the support of its galleries and the Grand Palais, as well as because of the health situation in France slowly improving, Art Paris 2020 will take place in real life from September 10 to 13, 2020 at the Grand Palais.
On the occasion, strict health requirements will be implemented and the map of the fair will be reworked with wider aisles, fewer exhibitors (a hundred instead of 147), thermal cameras at the entrances if need be, new opening hours with limited number of visitors at the premier, and opening days for professionals and collectors, every day, from 10 a.m. to noon. You will be safe and healthy!
Only 80 galleries, including foreign galleries, have answered the call - 36 have declined the offer, about thirty are considering it, and new galleries who could not take part in fairs this spring are willing to apply.
According to Art Paris owners Julien and Valentine Lecêtre: "Most galleries we have been surveyed think it will be an intense period, suitable for restarting the activity. We are ready to take up the challenge with our galleries, and we will put all our energy so that Art Paris successfully opens in September the cultural event season this Fall in Paris, a world capital that keeps on attracting people and owning a rich ecosystem of institutions and collectors particularly active".
Good news for contemporary art lovers!
