For its grand reopening, the Tour Montparnasse Top of The City devotes a photo exhibition to lockdown and the reflection it caused. Called New Beginnings, it runs from July 3, 2020 on the observatory deck of the tower, also providing you with unobstructed views on Paris. The occasion for the Montparnasse Tower, through the display of these pictures, to support the Care International and Secours Populaire charities by donating profits of photo and by-products sales of this exhibition.
Through stories of six photographers from Paris, Berlin, Rotterdam, Philadelphia, and even Chicago, the exhibition highlights the “exclusive and marking character of this time on hold” and the “post-containment wake” that followed in five cities across the world (and named hereabove). As for our dear Paris, visitors are invited to discover different and surprising shots of Paris emptied out of its inhabitants: empty boulevards and avenues, empty squares, cafés closed, windows open and clapping every night… We see lockdown in a new light, then life gets back with the return of cyclists in the streets, children playing together, walkers wearing facemasks…
A return to life that is also translated – especially in Philadelphia and Chicago – by protests that sparked in the United States following George Floyd’s death. Pictures of the gatherings are displayed on the occasion. Note all pictures are also available on Magnicity group website, urban altitude tourism leader brand that Paris Montparnasse Observatory Deck is part of, and a selection will be put on sale. The occasion to do something good.
The exhibition is divided into two parts with a way to the panoramic rooftop of the Montparnasse Tower, let’s enjoy the magnificent terrace before enjoying the second part of the exhibit.
