On the occasion of Australia Now – celebrating the Australian culture in Paris this 2021 – and in partnership with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the Aquarium de Paris offers you an exhibition dedicated to the most beautiful landscapes of seabeds on the country’s Eastern coast. Called “Australie: Voyage au coeur des récifs” [Australia: Journey to the heart of reefs], this exhibition will run from June 28 to August 29, 2021 and will include a never-before-seen panoramic photo installation unveiling the beauty of Australian ocean floors.
And for good reason, the Great Barrier Reef may be one of the most exceptional places in the world, covering 2,300 kilometers (1,429.15 miles), from Bundaberg to the tip of the Cape York peninsula, covering 344,400sqkm. Visible from space, this is the biggest living biogenic body in the world.
Thanks to conferences and documentaries, the exhibition aims at raising awareness about the different ways to manage the seabeds, set up to protect these ecosystems vital to the underwater life’s balance in the long run. Beyond this exhibition, the aquarium commits itself to saving the reefs since the Aquarium de Paris throws programs to raise reefs in closed systems created on that very matter. All in all, 700 colonies of corals, as well as the ecosystems they build, are housed within.
A way to raise awareness about saving ecosystems and making the most of a very beautiful show.
