Paris lovers and art enthusiasts will be flocking to the Musée de Montmartre for the reopening of its superb exhibition of works by Raoul Dufy, entitled Le Paris de Dufy, from May 19, 2021 to January 2, 2022.

The perfect way to declare your love for the capital... The Musée de Montmartre is devoting an exhibition to the artist Raoul Dufy and one of his favorite themes, entitled Le Paris de Dufy, to be discovered from May 19, 2021 to January 2, 2022. The aim of this retrospective is to show and study Dufy's choice of Paris as a subject for his work, a subject never before dealt with by other museums in the oeuvre of this multi-faceted artist.

The exhibition is organized with the exceptional participation of the Centre Pompidou, in partnership with the Mobilier National and the Gobelins, Beauvais and Savonnerie manufactures. Visitors are presented with a total of 200 works created between 1898 and 1953, including paintings, furniture and documents, all representative of the Paris that so inspired Raoul Dufy.

A fine exhibition, dense and varied, very complete and far from stingy in the presentation of the paintings and other furniture on display. We discover a whole new facet of the artist, a discreet lover of Paris yet so prolific on the subject, through canvases, posters, furniture and other media. Works in explosive, eye-catching colors make this exhibition a must-see for all lovers of Paris and Raoul Dufy.

Montmartre, his first Parisian studios, the Eiffel Tower, the Panthéon, the Invalides, theOpera district, the Seine, the Marne or even Parisian socialites... So many subjects that fascinate and make up the legend of fantasized Paris. It's also a tribute to the man who occupied one of the studios at 12, rue Cortot, where the Musée de Montmartre is now located, and another at 5, impasse Guelma, from 1911 onwards, the birthplace of many masterpieces, including several featured in this exhibition.

A great opportunity to discover the Paris of early 20th-century painters.
