If you love gorgeous shoes, you know that: a pair of sneakers, thoroughly selected, is the statement piece of an outfit. Whether you spend fortunes in the latest pairs or if you are only good with admiring them, this exhibition is a go-to. From September 8 to November 14, 2021, meet at the Galerie Sakura to enjoy “Sneakers generation”, the biggest exhibition of custom sneakers ever in Paris.
Be ready to enter the world of your dreams: hundreds of unique sneakers, decorated by over 400 artists from 40 different countries. They are graffiti, tattoo artists, drawers, street-artists, illustrators, painters… They have worked on the iconic model of sneakers: the Air Jordan 1 Mid Triple White and gave free rein to their imagination, designing unique pieces.
Each artist was given free rein for the iconic pair of sneakers and turn it into an incredible and unique work of art. The Air Jordan 1 Mid Triple White becomes a pop-art piece of work. The shoes then display Luffy, the Joker, Totoro or Bart Simpson.
Travel in the Hokusai wave alongside Pokémon, admire drawings with Japanese, American or French influences… Gaze at the naturalist or abstract drawings, Japanese animated movies, impressionist paintings, graffiti, video games… Themes and styles are as varied as visitors’ tastes. You cannot leave without falling in love with one of the models displayed.
And the good news is that if you really want one of the pairs of sneakers, you can leave with it! Each model is on sale and costs €450. The question is: will you take the risk of wearing and dirtying these masterpieces adorning your feet or would you rather like to display them in a safe place on a shelf at home?
Wait no more: go now and discover this never-before-seen exhibition! But before that, you need to make a choice: what sneakers will you be wearing?
