From December 9, 2021 to July 31, 2022, the “Le Monde de Steve McCurry” exhibition at the Musée Maillol will provide a retrospective of photographs taken by famous American contemporary photographer Steve McCurry. It will feature over 150 photographs printed on a big format for the first time in Paris. among them, many are famed and have traveled the world such as the “Afghan Girl”.
The exhibition was first expected to end on May 29. But given the enthusiasm of visitors, the Musée Maillol decided to extend the exhibition until late July. Therefore, you have an extra few weeks to discover or rediscover this gorgeous exhibition.
Curated by Biba Giacchetti, the exhibition is the widest and the most complete ever dedicated to the great American photographer and his forty years of career. You can admire his most recent shots and many never-before-seen photographs, never shown to the public.
Offering a journey to the heart of human and elsewhere, his work takes us to fights, disappearing cultures, as well as contemporary events such as 9/11. His incredible pictures encase a complex universe of experiences and emotions, from Afghanistan to India, from South-Eastern Asia to Africa, from Cuba to the United States, and from Brazil to Italy.
