A unique digital and immersive installation! La Gaîté Lyrique invites you to discover theexhibition-experience by Quebec artist Sabrina Ratté, entitled Sabrina Ratté, exhibition-experience from March 17 to July 10, 2022. Ratté mixes video projections, animations, prints, photogrammetries, sculptures and spatial devices, inventing"carnal landscapes and dreamed architectures, situated somewhere between the physical and virtual worlds".
The title comes from one of his first video works produced in 2012, with its"sun-washed" colors, but also from the etymology of the word aura, which in Latin means "wind", "breath", "atmosphere", the name of the exhibition before its extension... These video works are imbued with poetry and science fiction, proposing to"give relief back to images, to restore a new aura to them in the age of technology, and to augment them to the point of making them 'ambient units' to be explored physically".
Following in the footsteps of recent exhibitions at La Gaîté Lyrique(Faire Corps, Heureux soient les fêlés...), this retrospective takes the form of a visual and sound journey in which the curious become the actors and actresses of the space, of the surface projected onto the walls and floor, strolling not beside or in front of the works, but directly into the heart of them. These landscapes are also inhabited"by visual matter in motion, questioning the physical separation between two realities". A must-see! Should we book our tickets for the Gaîté Lyrique, folks?
