This is a great family outing… From February 19, 2022, to January 8, 2023, the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie invites you to discover their latest exhibition, Fragile! The exhibition has been especially created for children from the age of 2 to 6, encouraging them to discover the little world of Windy, Iggy, Folia, Glitch and Plote, respectively a balloon, an egg, a sheet of paper, a loaf of soap and a ball of wool. Characters are brought to reality thanks to Roky, the rock, showing their fragile spot until it cracks, eventually more fragile than the others.
Throughout their adventures, children are faced with the fragility of different objects and encouraged to try and overcome them in order to fix Roky. The goal? Understanding the attributes of each so-called “fragile” object, as well as the falling mechanisms, throughout the story. The story told is to be experienced by children through different experiences and manipulations to understand the concept of fragility better.
As for the tour in itself, it is divided into five rooms/themes, each answering different aspects of fragility with the highlight of the display at the end of the exhibition, a “Câlinerie” providing children to cuddle with cushions, stuffed animals and more toys representing the characters in order to learn how to take care about one another. When cuddling them, they realize fragility can turn into a strength.
In other words, a great exhibition to discover and understand fragility of items… And a good way to keep children busy while teaching them sciences!
