The Centre Pompidou takes part in Museums Night 2019 and invites us to discover its collection for free through tours guided by the youngest ones!
The Centre Pompidou will remain open for a night you will remember… How come? European Museums Night, in which, the museum takes part on Saturday May 18, 2019.
All night long, starting from 8 p.m., the Musée national d'art moderne set on the 4th and 5th floors of the Centre Pompidou will be free of charge so that we can enjoy the 2000 works by Jean Dubuffet, Francis Bacon, Yves Klein, Jean Tinguely, Andy Warhol, Christian Boltanski, Mark Rothko and even Annette Messager displayed in the rooms of the museum.
The tour will be completed from modern art (from 1905 to 1960) to contemporary art (from the 1960's to noawadays) through 32 rooms.
For Museums Night 2019, Centre Pompidou invites students for 2 events:
- La Classe, l'Oeuvre from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Enjoy a tour of the Museum with students from "La Classe, l'Oeuvr" including children from fifth grade and seventh grade from various schools in Paris 20th arrondissement, becoming cultural mediators for the night.
- Controversial works from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
After a long preparation, students will be found in the museum's collections. All evening, they will throw themselves into arguments to defend the work they love facing students from another class.
The access to the temporary Préhistoire and Ellsworth Kelly exhibitions remain yet charged all night long for those wishing to roam aorund and discover them for instance.
