This Saturday May 18, 2019, the Château de Fontainebleau takes part in Museums Night 2019 and promises a lovely intimist atmosphere between darkness and light throughout the château’s alleys. We walk the same corridors the greatest Princes and Dukes used to take, and which remained in the same state since Napoléon III and Empress Eugenie has left!
With over 1500 pieces exhibited throughout the 130 hectares of park and gardens, Fontainebleau is the only royal and imperial castle that has been inhabited non-stop for seven centuries. Visiting Fontainebleau is enjoying an exceptional presentation of history, the history of French art and architecture.
For Museums Night, you’re invited to come and roam around the Sovereign Grands Appartements, located on the first floor of the château. The successive royal apartments open onto an outdoor walkway running along the façade and the oval courtyard.
Walking us through, high-schoolers from Seine-et-Marne present the rooms and the major works of the Château (Galerie François I, Ballroom, Saint-Louis rooms, Galerie des Cerfs, the oval courtyard...) from 8:15 p.m. to 11 p.m.!
