Not less than 3,000 French museums took part in European Museums Night 2016 and over 2 million visitors answered the call. This year, thousands of activities are organized within the participating museums (concerts, guided tours, screenings, performances...).
For museum regulars or unusual enthusiasts, Museums Night also offers the opportunity to visit unusual places. To help you making the right choice, here is our selection among the nicest museums in Val-de-Marne:
- MAC/VAL (Vitry-sur-Seine)
The MAC/VAL museum (contemporary art museum) takes part in Museums Night 2017 and offers a program full of concerts, worshops, performances and visits to experience from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Villa Médicis (Saint-Maur-des-Fossés)
Located in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, the Villa Médicis is a building from the 15th century which façade has been classified on the French supplementary historic monument list in 1976. The Villa Médicis welcomes Museums Night 2017 and provides a wide program related to its current exhibition: street art. Screenings, exhibitions, choir... There will be something for everyone!
- Val-de-Marne ecomuseum
Fresnes ecomuseum opens its doors until late in the day to offer visitors to visit the "Inhabitants and suburban builders – 1955-1975" exhibition, along with a band called "Les Nanas dans l’rétro".
- Musée Fragonard, école nationale vétérinaire (Maisons-Alfort)
The Musée Fragonard of the Ecole nationale vétérinaire is one of the oldest museums in France. The building havs been preserving skeletons, organs and other animal microbes since 1774! Over 4,200 items are exhibited in for rooms.
