The Outsider Art Fair thinks on a grand scale: from October 19 to 21, 2018 it invites about thirty international galleries to take over the Atelier Richelieu, a wide exhibition area covering 1000 sqm.
Works have not been picked up yet but we look forward to it. Outsider Art Fair previous editions allowed us to discover works painted by big names (James Castle, Aloïse Corbaz, Henry Darger, Martin Ramirez, Judith Scott and Adolf Wölfli) as well as modern artists (such as George Widener, Susan Te Kahrangi King and Dan Miller).
According to Jean Dubuffet, here is what art brut means: "We understand works done by people unharmed by art culture, in which mimetism - unlike what happens with intellectual people - takes no or not really part, so that artists draw everything [...] from their own depth and not from the clichés of classic art or the trendy art."
Who says art brut says Halle Saint Pierre and it’s very logic that it’s here we can find the biggest Parisian museum dedicated to naïve art through a non-residential bookshop with a selection of books, catalogs and reviews as well a new works available for the first time in France.
So, to discover what alternative art has best, come visit the fifth edition of the Outsider Art Fair!
