European Heritage Days 2018 at Paris Philharmonie

Paris Philharmonie, the new Cité de la Musique in the French capital takes part in European Heritage Days this September on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16, 2018. On the menu, free tour of the Musée de la Musique, mini-concerts, tales and workshops for music lovers of all ages!

For European Heritage Days 2018, turned toward sharing, the Philharmonie de Paris offers a weekend of free animations on September 15 and 16.

Inaugurated on January 14, 2015, the new Cité de la Musique is a building of the future, our heritage and for the upcoming generations: thought up by Jean Nouvel to house the Paris Orchestra, music workshops and the Musée de la Musique, the building is a beautiful work that found its place in our heritage.

On the menu of these European Heritage Days 2018 at the Paris Philharmonie:

  • Visit of the Musée de la Musique: Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Come along and discover the Musée de la Musique and its 7000 instruments for a world tour of music.

  • Gypsy Jazz: Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Guitarist Dominique Carré passionately practices gypsy jazz and offers visitors some performances of his wide repertoire: Nuages by Django Reinhardt, La Minch by Matelot Ferré, What a Wonderful World by George David Weiss… the occasion to discover a music style as charming as lovely.

  • Bodies, voices, instruments: participative workshop on Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Musician and speaker Adèle Gornet offers music lovers to play together on very peculiar music instruments: using your body as a drum and sing. An original way to approach music.

  • Let’s Rock and Pop!: participative concert on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Guitarist Olivier Aude and singer-drummer Mario Cimenti will make you dance and sing at the rhythm of Elvis Presley’s, Alain Bashung’s, Serge Gainsbourg’s, Jacques Dutronc’s tracks… A concert you’re entirely part of!

  • Strong winds: Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A horn, and a voice, several voices possible… Singer and horn player ManudO offers “a musical journey with brass, singing and sound effects”. A concert that will make you travel far away… With all sails set!

Let’s start the season with La Banana, singer and accordion player Alexis Kune invites visitors to sing along with him. Choose the repertoire: from Padam to La Javanaise without forgetting J’aime les Filles and Le Tourbillon de la Vie… It’s up to you!
