Parc Astérix, home of the almighty Gauls, is getting ready for a new season starting from June 9, 2021. As soon as the park reopens, they expect to instate a compulsory online and dated pre-booking system. But not only... And for good reason, a wonderful surprise has been announced by the park, as a giveaway offering families (household) to win a day and one night just for them in the park, with a tour to enjoy on June 1 and 2.
As for the reopening of the park, State Secretary for Tourism Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne announced this May 7 that theme parks could reopen from May 19, but attractions could not open before June 9. The government wishes to wait for the health pass to be available before allowing people to enjoy rides. An incomprehensible decision for Parc Asterix director Nicolas Kremer who expressed his stupefaction on France Bleu: "we already don't really understand, what does it mean, a theme park without attractions? (...) We cannot open like that, we will head for June 9 then".
The Parc Astérix decides to wait until early June to be able to fully open to visitors. Kremer yet warns: a health pass instated to access the park is a bad idea: "we're an activity of impulsion, people decided the day before to come. If they need a tests, papers, we'll lose clientele. (...) And we don't have the means to read health passes", he adds.
Health pass or not, we are very happy and looking forward to meeting with Asterix, Obelix and their friends this summer. Are you looking for a fun new outing with family or friends? Come enjoy yourself at this theme park that has no fewer than 40 attractions and great shows.
This year, the park keeps on innovating. After the thrilling Oziris in 2012, the family favorite in 2014 with the Idéfix forest [Dogmatix Forest], new shows in 2015 and the Discobélix in 2016, blown us away with the Pégase Express back in 2017 and this year, the park promises us many surprises: The Hôtel Cité Suspendue gets bigger to house even more guests, the Quais de Lutèce hotel opens.
The program 2021 has not been released yet, but in the meantime, this is what happened in 2020:
New in 2020:
Opening of new hotel Les Quais de Lutèce
Les Quais de Lutèce, here’s the name of the new 4-star hotel at Parc Astérix opening this Spring 2020. A hotel featuring 150 bedrooms representing the majestic buildings of Lutetia as depicted in the comics, along the reconstituted Seine.
But you can still enjoy Parc Astérix novelties from 2019:
Attention Menhir: the new 4D attraction by StudioIdéfix
StudioIdéfix, new 300-seat theater, invites you to discover a new 4D show. The plot: Caesar sends Centurion Peupaplus from the Babaorum trench camp for the MDR operation (Mission Dissimulation Repression). Careful though, menhirs may fall.
After a preshow made of shadow puppets, put your 3D glasses on and while seated on dynamic chairs (there are also seats that don't move on the first row for those who don't enjoy moves), let's dive for 10 minutes in the universe of this new Astérix adventure. Wind, slaps, serpents, smell of the forest... Everything is here and extremely well done so that we can fully experience this story. Lights twinkling in the movie also twinkle in the room.
The Parc Asterix (finally) bets on technology and it's a success. To try absolutely this year.
The Aventure Astérix
Discover the new interactive tour in tribute to Astérix two fathers: Alberto Uderzo and René Goscinny.
Meetings with characters
Moreover, for its 30th anniversary, the park varies its show and street activity offerings. Each zone has its share of characters to meet: Romans, Egyptians, Vikings and Greeks are in.
The Gallic Parade (canceled until further notice)
For its 30th anniversary, Parc Asterix launches its Défilé Gaulois / Gallic Parade, a parade including the characters of the comics. Asterix, Obelix, Getafix, Panacea, Vitalstatistix, Impedimenta and even the wild boars are in, standing on a drakkar while the Roman Centurions surround the boat, dancing with music.
New show: "Chronos: magie et illusions" [Chronos: Magic and Illusions] (Canceled until further notice)
Magician Mickaël and his creature Cléa blow us away. For 20 minutes, they complete several magic tricks including appearances and disappearances, shrinking and levitations... defying the laws of nature. It's rather classic but it always works. Children will be left in awe all the more so as the magician will make some of them take part in the show...
