New at Disneyland Paris! Since July 20, 2022, Avengers Campus, the park's newest zone, has been home to a brand-new attraction in place of the Rock'n'Roller Coaster. What's it called? Avengers Assemble: Flight Force. A roller coaster based on the same course as the Rock'n'Roller Coaster, but with new preshows and a new story revolving around Iron Man and Captain Marvel... We tried it out (with the new effects), and tell you all about it!

Would you like to travel through space on a train withIron Man and Captain Marvel? Head for Avengers Campus, at Walt Disney Studios, Disneyland Paris, which from July 20, 2022 will be hosting Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, in addition to a Spider-Man attraction - Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure - and a roller coaster in place of the Rock'n'Roller Coaster!

What's it all about? The ultimate experience for fans of superheroes and thrills! First, you're briefed by Iron Man himself (in animatronic form), dressed in his state-of-the-art Mark 80 wardrobe, for a high-flying mission, and then, as a new recruit to the Avengers, you board a vehicle straight from the mind of Tony Stark, equipped with a self-guiding device to ward off threats to Earth in the company ofIron Man and Captain Marvel. This attraction changes its queue and preshows, but not the layout of the ride, which remains unchanged.

Note that for this experience, Brie Larson, who plays the superheroine in the last two Avengers films, as well as in her solo movie, has once again lent her voice to the Disneyland Paris attraction. This unique attraction features another Marvel character, theartificial intelligence F.R.I.D.A.Y..

Integrated into theAvengers Assemble: Flight Force façade, F.R.I.D.A.Y. will welcome new recruits, interact with them and announce the Avengers' arrivals and departures. F.R.I.D.A.Y. is exclusive toAvengers Campus Paris.

Our test of the Avengers Assemble Flight Force attraction at Avengers Campus :

An attraction we were able to test. And those who were used to the Rock'n'Roller coaster won't be disoriented, since the circuit remains unchanged, as do the train launches with a countdown. The trains, on the other hand, may be regretted, as they've simply changed their hulls. They're magnificent, these trains, but the experience is still rough and jolting. New trains would have been welcome...

As for the thrills, they're still there, as the trains still go from 0 to 96km in 1.8 seconds, launching themselves down the track before beginning the first loop some thirty meters high. It'sstill just as bumpy and fast-paced as ever, but that's what we like about it! As for the queue, it's been redesigned from top to bottom, with a layout far removed from that of the Rock'n'Roller Coaster.

As for the preshows, they're up to scratch: the screens showing the preshow videos, with Iron Man looking for an available superhero to help him fight the Kree. The quality of these videos is incredible, light years ahead of anything we've seen from Disney before. There are also plenty of references to other attractions in other parks around the world, tying everything together. As forIron Man's new-generationanimatronic, his gestures are fluid and convincing. We also feel the urgency of the situation, from the last preshow to the boarding platform.

As for the ride itself, it's worth noting that after the addition of new effects (two screens and starry "lighting"), the ride, which was sorely lacking in effects (unlike the Rock'n'Roller Coaster, this one took place in pitch black when it reopened), is all the more enjoyable. These effects add to the cachet of the whole, in addition to the screens already present (an LED and several projection screens) revealing the space battle between Iron Man, Captain Marvel and the Kree missiles targeting Earth. So far (at least for us), we haven't been able to tell the difference between the LED screen and the projections, which is indicative of the quality of the video and projection. On the other hand, we regret the disappearance of a line or two of dialogue, which added dynamism to the story and to the trains' frantic race through space. Otherwise, without spoiling anything, we particularly appreciated the very end of the ride, with heroic gunfire that the train follows, for an epic finale. In short, we loved it!

This test was conducted as part of a professional invitation. If your experience differs from ours, please mention it in the comments.
