Disney group has announced a 2 billion-euro ($2.47 billion) investment to expand Disneyland Paris. All in all, three new theme parks have been announced around Marvel superheroes, Frozen and Star Wars, works will start in 2019 for an opening estimated for each zone between 2022 and 2025.
Because of the coronavirus health crisis, the extension works have been suspended as soon as lockdown was announced and has been delayed when the authorities gave the green light. Therefore, the different lands may open later than what was planned first, even though nothing has been yet announced. Dates given in the articles are subject to change depending on announcements from the resort. Yet note the construction works continue during the new lockdown for the upcoming Avengers Campus among others, and the three lands remain topical, according to Disney group new CEO Bob Chapek, who addressed the issue during a conference with stockholders.

Disneyland Paris expands! Disney CEO Bob Iger has presented French president Emmanuel Macron a spending plan of the Parisian theme park with an investment of 2 billion euros ($2.47 billion) for three new themed areas: “The expansion plan is one of the most ambitious development projects at Disneyland Paris since its opening in 1992” he says.

US entertainment giant CEO continues: “It underscores the company's commitment to the long-term success of the resort as Disney's brand beacon in Europe”. An announce hailed by the French President on Twitter, thanking Bob Iger for his “long-term investment” and his “very strong commitment in France”.

Three new areas devoted to the 3 major sagas of the big-eared company: Marvel super heroes (the renovation of the Rock’n’Roller Coaster ride will be one of the key elements), the Star Wars saga and the animated Movie Frozen.

Works said to start from 2019 and spanning over several years, starting with the renovation of the New-York Hotel around Marvel super heroes and which reopening is planned in June 2021. As for the park, this extension is said to cover 31ha and includes the three involves areas. In an interview with Le Parisien, Walt Disney Imagineering vice-president David Wilson tells about the idea guests will "live a new experience" and not "reliving the movie" in these areas.
