Feel like experiencing a magical moment with friends a few weeks prior to Christmas? This Saturday December 10, 2022, head to the Parc de La Villette from 5 p.m. for the Lantern Festival in Paris. This year's lantern parade intends to amaze children and adults.
Every year since 2015, the lantern parade brings passersby together for our greatest joy. After being cancelled in 2020 over Covid-19, the lantern parade is back in La Villette. The concept? Walking among hundreds of lanterns in hand and light up the Parc de la Villette for a poetic and musical walk.
Please note no lantern will be given or sold on site on the day of the event. These lanterns, made of paper, silk and wicker, are made ahead of time during workshops helf in schools and social centers with artists from the collectif Les Poussières. And no flying lantern throw is planned on December 10. But, people are invited to enjoy this magnificent parade and discover the La Villette park in another light.
This light parade is part of the "Lumières" event, which is another magical event created for the Holidays 2022, at La Villette.
These beautiful shows are taking place at the same time as more light festivals likely to spruce up December 2022 in Paris.
