Attention Spider-Man fans! Since July 20, 2022, Disneyland Paris has been offering a new attraction dedicated to Spider-Man in its new Marvel Land. Entitled Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure, it offers you the chance to shoot webs, just like Spider-Man, in a family attraction as fun as it is intense... We've tested it, and we'll tell you all about it!

Attention Marvel superhero fans! Avengers Campus finally opened its doors at Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney Studios Park, on July 20, 2022. The new zone includes two new attractions, one of which is particularly eagerly awaited: Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure. After Iron Man, who set up shop in a revisited Rock'n'Roller Coaster, it's now Spider-Man' s turn.

What does it involve? Announced by Scott Drake, Creative Director at Marvel Global Portfolio, on the occasion of the opening of Marvel Superhero Season 2018, this is intended to be an all-new experience in which visitors will become part of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB), a company founded by Tony Stark whose aim is to"develop new technologies for Super Heroes, starting with the improvement of Spider-Man's costume".

The principle of the attraction is quite simple: as soon as they enter, visitors enter the queues (Stand-By, Premier Access and Single Rider) and then proceed to various preshow rooms, before arriving in the boarding area. With 3D goggles on, children and their parents will then settle into an eight-seater vehicle to enjoy an all-new adventure with Spider-Man, helping him defeat several villains by shooting webs at spider-bots.

In 2019, at the D23 Expo, Bob Chapek, then President of Parks and Resort, already gave some details about this brand-new attraction, prior to its opening in the Avengers zone in California two years later. Children and their parents will be able to try out the new technologies developed by Peter Parker, and throw webs at a number of Spider-Bots who have become uncontrollable.

This new"immersive and interactive" experience uses"a clever blend of innovative technologies and special effects", and offers children and their parents"the opportunity to become Super Heroes themselves", thanks to a brand-new interface featuring cutting-edge technologies.

This new attraction takes the place ofArmaggedon: Les Effets Spéciaux, which closes definitively on April 1, 2019, and which Sortiraparis editors were able to test. On the decor side, we're impressed by the various preshows, showing our superhero giving instructions on three superimposed screens (to simulate 3D) as he takes on the Spider-bots. It's immersive and well thought-out, especially for children, who should have a great time on this attraction.

On the ride side, you'll be surprised by the quality of the web shots, which are particularly precisely calibrated. All you have to do is fix your eyes on the Spider-Bot you want to hit, gesture with Spider-Man 's arm and hand (you can also just turn your arm off) in the direction of the mechanical bug, and you're in the bull's-eye! Note that scoring is available, both individually and in groups, with top scores displayed at the end of the attraction. On the other hand, it's a sporty ride, and good arms are recommended, since you'll have to throw webs one after the other very quickly. You'll come out with sore arms, but it's well worth the effort!

Tip: we advise you to aim for the golden spiders, as these give you the most points. And don't hesitate to aim for any weapons in the background (such as the guns in the Quinjet area, visible from either side of the screen - you'll understand when you see them...), as these will allow you to destroy an entire horde of Spider-Bots in a single shot (and boost your score in the process).

As for 3D, it's also pretty well done, with few lags on game actions, and a striking immediacy of the web throw. Note that you can also modify your experience by purchasing W.E.B Power Bands in the store as you leave the attraction. These Power Bands allow you, by switching the ignition button on the white light, to modify the web thrown in the attraction, according to the Power Band chosen. For example, with the Iron Man Power Band, you can launch repulsor beams instead of webs. With the Doctor Strange Power Band, you can also launch "mystic amplifiers", a kind of magical tether ending in a mandala spell, just like the wizard in the MCU.

A little extra that adds a whole new experience. Intuitive Power Bands that do their job just as well (we tested the Doctor Strange one, and we're fans!). However, to get your hands on this little marvel of technology, you'll need to spend 40 euros for the base model, and a further 30 euros for the choice of Power Band hero. But these aren't just for the attraction, since by switching on the green button, you can turn on your repulsor(Iron Man) and levitate balls, or cast a spell with your hands like Doctor Strange. All in all, a great toy.

A highly recommended attraction for families. Planning a trip with the kids or friends?

This test was conducted as part of a professional invitation. If your experience differs from ours, please mention it in the comments.
