The upcoming Marvel land is unveiled little by little… After several months without news, Disneyland Paris has taken a stock on Monday November 16, 2020 during the IAAPA 2020, on the progress of the upcoming Marvel extension - expected to open in the summer 2022. Work is going well with buildings taking shape so that everything can open on time.
And among the highlights of this presentations, a stock on one of the most expected rides by families: Web Slingers: a Spider-Man Adventure. After Iron Man settling in a revisit of the Rock’n’Roller Coaster, it is Spider-Man’s turn to get a fully devoted ride.
What is it about then? An announced made by Marvel Global Portfolio creative manager Scott Drake, who on the occasion of the opening of the new Marvel super-heroes’ season in the Parisian theme park, has given a few details about this new ride focusing on Spider-Man. A brand-new experience said to get soon in construction, but it already has a storytelling: here, guests will be part of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB), a company founded by Tony Stark aiming at “developing new technologies for Super Heroes, starting with the improvement of Spider-Man’s outfit”.
The principle of the attraction is rather simple: as soon as guests enter the ride, they queue (Stand-By, FastPass and Singler Rider) to then head to the different preshow rooms before arriving to the boarding area. 3D glasses on the noses, children and parents can then have a seat in a 8-seat vehicle to enjoy Spider-Mand's brand-new adventure and help him fight several vilains.
The ride vehicles are actually the very point of the stock as they have been officially presented in action on the occasion. The vehicles has been shot here at Disney California Adenture, and we can see them at the loading station, in action, thanks to our peers from DLP Report.
In 2019, during the D23 Expo, Walt Disney Park and Resort president Bob Chapek has dropped a few infos about this brand-new ride. Children and parents can try the latest technologies developed by Peter Parker and throw webs on several "spiderbots" that have became out of control. Precisions acocmpanies by several concept arts.
A new “immersive and interactive” experience that will call in “a smart mix of innovative technologies and special effects” giving the opportunity to children and their parents “to become Super Heroes themselves”, thanks to a brand-new interface using cutting-edge technologies. A new ride said to be in lieu of Armaggedon – according to the concept art unveiled by Disneyland Paris several months ago. The Armaggedon ride will close this April 1, 2019. Please note that a new outfit for Spider-Man is planned this year for the Marvel Super Heroes’ season… Keep your eyes peeled to discover it, friends!
