Disneyland Paris has announced – in the update of the park – a “new” ride within Walt Disney Studios. Families and Flash McQueen fans can discover Cars Road Trip (formerly called Cars Route 66 Road Trip), a recreation of the Studio Tram Tour ride and second one of the resort, after Cars Quatre Roues Rallye set in the same park.

It was first expected to open this summer 2020, but the opening has been unfortunately postponed to a later date because of the parks' closure and the hold of works over the coronavirus epidemic. But there is some good news: one of the imagineers entrusted with the ride, Tom Fitzgerald, has announced in a video the ride will officially open in 2021.

Furthermore, to make fans be as patient as possible, the Parisian theme parks shared some news as part of the IAAPA 2020 this Monday November 16, 2020, about the work in progress of the upcoming ride with two pictures. What do they show? That work is coming along nicely by the "Catastrophe Canyon" - the "water" part of the ride where truck-trains are violentely shaken by an "earthquake" in the middle of the canyon before getting splashed. Because it is not possible to get a real look of the Dinoco truck, this is the tank - displaying the franchise's colors - you can see in the shots.

Before adding on Monday November 23, 2020, that new first looks on the boarding station to welcome visitors before going on the Pixar road are available. A brand-new station inspired by "Mid-Century Modern" architectural style. According to Disneyland Paris press website, guests will enter "the station through a tourist booth complete with maps, postcards and other decorative items".

An attraction that has seen its original route cut to create an alley leading to the lake as planned in the extension project of the park as announced in February 2018. The latter invites children and parents to an entertaining journey, similar to what Studio Tram Tour offers with a tour behind the scenes of the Pixar animation movie.

Note that even though the tour changes, visitors can enjoy some scenes from the original ride, like the canyon. Yet, the London part has been destroyed for the upcoming Marvel land, Avengers Campus. Note that the entrance to the ride will be set within Toy Story Playland. So far, the ride remains open and no works have been said to start.
