Faced with the new surge in the Covid-19 epidemic in some French territories, the government made new restrictions. Starting Friday March 19 at midnight, 16 departments are placed into 24/7 lockdown, for 4 weeks. A new lockdown that has consequences. Therefore, several major theme parks such as Disneyland Paris and Parc Astérix have postponed their reopening.
This March 19, another park announces they are postponing the launch of their season 2021. It involves Puy du Fou. The famous Vendée theme park explains in a tweet they cannot reopen on the initially-scheduled date, namely April 3, because of the health contect.

Puy du Fou is postponing their reopening to April 17, 2021. The park details the staff is "currently reaching visitors who booked tickets or stays already between April 2 and 16 to propose the best alternatives possible".
For bookings starting April 17, "visitors with schedule adjustments will be directly reached by Puy du Fou teams", the park explains. Furthermore, "without message from them", booking remains confirmed, and Puy du Fou invites you to regularly check schedule on the COVID-19 tab on the official website updated depending on the evolution of the situation.
Last year, Puy du Fou park set up a very strict health measures: spacious parking places to limit contacts, 350 in-situ staff to organize visitor flow, permanent disinfection of all places accessible to visitors, over 250 disinfection spots points with hand sanitizer, wider entrances and exits to all the shows, audience size drastically reduced for social distancing matters… As many measures to make sure everyone stays safe and health!
For the record, Puy du Fou includes 2,500 jobs, 4,500 direct positions, €500 million of economic impact on the region and a breaking record of visitors in 2019 with 2.3 million visitors in one year.
