The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte celebrates the Holiday season with “Fêtes et Fastes”!

The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is decked out in a thousand and one lights, welcoming visitors like royalty. From October 17, 2020 to January 3, 2021, you'll vibrate to the rhythm of "Fêtes et Fastes", a magical event that will light up the end of the year.

Vaux-le-Vicomte en lumières returns for its 15th edition, from October 17, 2020 to January 3, 2021. The château 's theme for the end of the year is pomp and splendor. Re-discover this grandiose place, adorned with thousands of decorations and lights, for an unforgettable stroll.

Inside the château, you'll pass through fully decorated rooms , each with its own theme and function: sumptuous banquets, dazzling receptions and dancing balls fill the rooms from the first floor to the basement.

Courtyards, avenues of fir trees, château facades, outbuildings, gardens, château rooms... Every room is transformed for the festivities, helping to enchant Vaux-le-Vicomte. As night falls, the garden is illuminated by thousands of strings of lights, making every leaf and bush sparkle under the watchful eye of a giant 5-metre squirrel, symbol of the first owner of the estate, Nicolas Fouquet.

A huge projection decorates the château's facades at the end of the day, bringing its ancient stones to life. In five tableaux, animated images and a specially adapted soundtrack recount the great moments in the history of the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte. The monument's sculptures, architecture and details are highlighted and enhanced by 3D effects. The show begins 45 minutes after sunset, rounding off a day rich in discovery.

To add to the children's delight, all visitors aged three to twelve leave with their hands full: a surprise gift from PAPO leaves them with a beautiful souvenir of their visit to Vaux-le-Vicomte. If you can, organize your visit during the week, outside school vacations: in November, costume hire for all children is free!

During the All Saints' vacation period, from October 17 to November 1, your little ones won't be left out: the château organizes preparation and ornamentation workshops, so they can make their own festive decorations. At Christmas, children can show their generosity by bringing in a toy or gift, which will then be distributed by the Red Cross to underprivileged children.
