Wild encounters this Fall 2021 at Paris Zoo

Paris Parc Zoologique invites you all to discover the fascinating nature around thanks to the “Rendez-vous Sauvages de l'automne” events. From October 23 to November 7, 2021, enjoy a varied program for children and adults, and meets with famous artists fascinated by nature.

The Parc Zoologique de Paris moves to Fall time and invites us all to discover their new and exclusive program. The Rendez-vous sauvages d'été are coming for the Fall break, from October 23 to November 7, 2021. This season's theme? Looking for fascinating species around the latest species, those we do not know yet and those that are legens, all fascinating, wild, plant-related or neither of them.

What is the program of the break? Well, you will enjoy a busy vacation between themed guided tours, daily entertainments, feeding animals, creative workshops for children, and of course, exclusive meetings.

Here is the detailed program:

  • Meetings 

Visitors can meet with scientists and artists who will come to share their expertise and work.

    • Saturday October 23, 2 p.m.

Cryptozoology: between myths, sciences and human testimonies, Benoît Grison
At the crossroads between sciences, myths and local testimonies, cryptozoology is an often little-known or misunderstood discipline. This free rein will be the occasion to learn more about this matter, and on the existence or not of some creatures...

    • Saturday October 30, 2 p.m.

Mechanical animals, with ARDIF and Pierre-Michel Forget
Come and meet ARDIF, a famous street-artist, who will present his work. Accompanied by Pierre-Michel Forget, they will show the ties between drawing, photography, city and forest through some iconic species.

    • Wednesday November 3, 2 p.m.

The unclassifiable, with Guillaume Lecointre
Guillaume Lecoîntre will come and talk about his fascinating research about the evolutive relationships between the living beings and the affiliation relationships between species... often difficult to name!

    • Saturday November 6, 2 p.m.

The tardigrades, with Emmanuelle Delagoutte
Come and discover a species with incredible abilities: the tardigrades! This small body is able to survive extreme conditions and even come back from the dead. Some think it may have an extraterrestrial origin so much surprising it is! Make the most of this occasion with a tardigrade specialist to find out everything about this fascinating being.

  • Street-art
ARDIF is a Parisian street-artist depicting figures where animal is represented by architectural patterns. Inspired by steampunk, this urban fauna has its mark on the walls of the city and questions the relationship between nature and urban life. The artist invites us all on a genuine safari within the city! These mechanical animals are also to hide in the paths of the zoo and visitors can discover and admire them during a treasure hunt. On October 30, the artist will be there to meet with you all and present his works.
  • Guided tours: discover fascinating species
Paris zoo proposes visitors to rediscover the surprising features of animal and plant species in a playful and original manner with a scientist through the different biozones.
From October 23 to November 7, on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.
Rate: €5 in addition to the admission fee
  • Scary day
On October 31, Paris zoo celebrates Halloween with special entertainments: fantastic creatures will welcome visits and a great parade will occur at 3 p.m. without forgetting the famous treat-or-tricking.
  • Creative workshop for children
In addition to the daily entertainments, free workshops will be devoted to two fascinating species: blob and tardigrade known for their exceptional skills and strange features.

From October 23 to November 7, every day at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Free of charge, included in the visit, upon registration (limited seats).
  • Exhibitions
    •  As part of the Biennale Photoclimat, make the most of the “Regard(s) fascinant(s)” photo exhibition by photographer Tim Flach. This series of portraits focuses on the animal's look and delivers funny, moving and surprising shots.
    • Right by the exhibit, do not miss the Châlet and the exhibition gathering skeletons and naturalized animals from the collections of the National Museum of Natural History.
    • Meet in the giraffe building to enjoy the originas and sketches for Laurent Verron's work who illustrated this year's visuals. A rare occasion to discover the process step by step to create the poster.
