Want to travel back in time? Let's discover a charming park in Paris's Latin Quarter. This is the Medieval Garden of the Musée de Cluny.

If you're a history buff or just curious and eager to discover new things, you'll find a very special green setting in the Latin Quarter, where you can step back in time. Right next to the Musée de Cluny, the museum of the Middle Ages, a medieval garden awaits you. A delightful place for a stroll, the Jardin de Cluny is a great spot for a pleasant break in the heart of Paris, but not only that.

Although the park is a modern creation, it was inspired by the gardens of the Middle Ages, in keeping with the surrounding buildings. For the time being, only the western part of the park, including the children's playground, is open to the public, the eastern part being closed for renovation. By 2023, the more inquisitive among you will be able to take an interest in the botany of this verdant spot. A housekeeper unveils a vegetable garden featuring species of plants and vegetables that were consumed in medieval Paris. Another garden, known as the jardin des médecines simples, reveals the herbs that were used to make up remedies in those days.

A succession of spaces, terraces and parterres represent different aspects of medieval Paris. The celestial garden reveals flowers representing the Virgin, including roses, lilies, violets and irises, while the garden of courtly love sets another romantic scene. We even discover the plants that make up the famous Lady and the Unicorn tapestry at the Musée de Cluny!
