Bercy Village’s sky filled with thousands of butterflies

Look up and enjoy the show: Bercy Village’s sky is filled with colorful butterflies! A new artistic installation celebrating spring in Paris, and you need to see it.

You may have noticed that spring has finally sprung! Days are longer, flowers bloom here and there, the weather gets warmer, and butterflies twirl around the air again. And it is often very hard to see these little insects because of how little they are… So, Bercy Village has found a solution.

From March 26 to June 1, 2022, the sky of the open-air shopping mall is adorned with bright colors thanks to the new art installation you can enjoy while walking around. Come and discover the 126 colorful butterflies dancing in the sky of Bercy Village, hanging to reusable and biodegradable threads, attached in the trees of the Cour Saint-Emilion.

This swarm of butterflies above our heads take us back to childhood, when those insects used to be another word for amazement and poetry. Decoration specialist Blachère Illumination has originated this butterfly sky project, made with eco-friendly materials, based on cane sugar and made in France.

These butterflies are not alone: during the Easter break, Bercy Village also provides DIY workshops for children and adults to mark the return of spring.

During spring break, come and make flower crowns, organic cosmetics or birdhouses! These DIY workshops are held in the open-air from May 4 to 8, 2022. Find out more on Bercy Village website.

Make the most of this great weather to come and admire Bercy Village’s butterfly sky in the 12th arrondissement!
