The Butterfly Garden, an unusual stroll in a Parc Floral greenhouse

Need to get away from it all? How would you like to find yourself in the heart of an enchanted garden, with colorful butterflies twirling around you? It sounds like a dream. And yet this enchanted stroll is well and truly within Navigo's reach. All you have to do is head for the Bois de Vincennes, just outside Paris, to (re)discover the Parc Floral.

This is one of the four sites that make up the Jardin botanique de Paris, in addition to the Parc de Bagatelle, theArboretum de Paris and the Serres d'Auteuil. The Parc Floral is one of those spots where everyone agrees. With its Rosalie rides, its stretches of lounging grass, its 28 pavilions revealing exotic themed gardens, its beautiful playground and the peacocks you meet on your walk, it's a place where families, groups of friends and lovers come together, as well as solitary souls in search of peace and quiet.

And from May 15 to October 15, 2023, the butterfly garden will be back! The rendezvous is in pavilion 6, where a colorful universe awaits you, with these winged creatures twirling around you. In this secret 200m2 spot, you'll discover some forty species of butterfly that inhabit theÎle-de-France region. You'll observe the different stages of their life cycle, from chrysalis emergence to flight and courtship.

June/July is a particularly good time to visit this secret haven of peace. You can discover them in their habitat, or even let them land on you. But be careful: don't touch them, or try to catch them!

It's also an opportunity to discover the role these insects play in nature and how their living conditions have changed in relation to cities, while raising awareness of the need to preserve them. As you can see, the butterfly garden is not only a magical place to discover when the weather's fine, it's also an educational visit that should appeal to young and old alike!
