This Friday August 2, 2019, to observe the stars, head to the Cité des Sciences. For Star-Gazing Nights 2019, the Cité des Sciences opens its doors by night and offers an astronomic evening on the Prairie du Cercle, a few steps from the Géode. All night long, we’re invited to explore the sky, the stars through a telescope.
For Star-gazing nights 2019, the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie holds an astronomic night under the stars.
On Friday August 2, 2019, from 9 p.m. (small) astronomy enthusiasts are invited to observe the sky, comets and to look towards Saturn and Jupiter!
Star-gazing nights 2019 at the Cité des Sciences programming:
- Creating a sky map and introduction to sky map reading, non-stop
Cité des Sciences scientists will teach you how to find the different and visible celestial objects and work out where you are with the stars.
- Observing the sky through a telescope
This year, Star-gazing night will be the occasion to observe, among others, Saturn and its rings as well as Jupiter and its moons.
- Apollo missions Conference
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first step on the Moon, this star-gazing night at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie will offer a conference focusing on the Apollo missions.
It sounds great, right? This event is free of charge and open to all (we know the Cité des Sciences is children’s favorite place since they can learn at their own pace thanks to the mediators’ explanations!)
Star-gazing Nights will be held all weekend long so, do not hesitate to have a look at the various places taking part in Star-gazing Nights 2019.
