The Traversée de Paris estivale en voitures anciennes et véhicules d'époque returns this Sunday, July 30, 2023. For this summer edition, 700 vehicles over 30 years old are expected to take to the streets of the capital, discovering a number of historic places!

The Traversée de Paris en anciennes is one of the must-attend events in Paris for lovers of old jalopies. Twice a year, for an entire morning, the streets of Paris come alive to the sound of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, tractors, buses and light commercial vehicles over 30 years old, for an unusual crossing of Paris.

The rendezvous for this 16th edition is this Sunday, July 30, 2023 , for a crossing from Vincennes to the Terrasse de l'Observatoire de Meudon, where a convivial picnic is planned.

Whether you're a collector or not, this is an opportunity to take a leap back in the history of locomotion through these vehicles that have spanned the ages. La Traversée de Paris is an opportunity to highlight this rich and eclectic rolling heritage, represented by vehicles from all countries and all makes, some of which have disappeared.

So, what kind of vintage vehicles will you be able to see this Sunday, July 30, 2023, during this summer edition? The range is wide, with more than 70 brands from the 19th century to the 90s represented. Some of these are now defunct French brands, while others are British, Italian, German, American, Swedish or Japanese, with crews from all over the world (France, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain...).

" For the participants, who sometimes come from very far away, this Traversée is an opportunity to discover Paris from a new angle, to combine the pleasure of driving and tourism in a relaxed and warm atmosphere, under the benevolent gaze of passers-by ", explains Jacques d'Andréa, President of Vincennes en Anciennes.

Those who don't own a classic car are also invited to take part. There are several options open to them: be on the Parvis sud of the Château de Vincennes at the time of departure, position yourself along the route to the finish in Meudon, reserve a seat on one of the four platform buses for a fee of €10 per person, take part in the picnic by bringing your own victuals, or simply come to Meudon in the early afternoon to enjoy the event.

For this year's summer edition, the theme is the capital's squares, a subject already explored at the 14th Traversée estivale in 2021. With almost 500 squares in Paris, a selection of some twenty has been made, all offering magnificent views of the city's emblematic monuments.

As usual, the route will only be revealed at the start, on the morning itself, when the route book and rally plaque are handed over. These two elements are essential for a safe participation in the event. The route is scheduled to last 4 hours, with a cruising speed of 30 km/h, allowing all participants to fully savor the moment.

Join us at 8.00 a.m. on the south square of the Château de Vincennes for the start of this summer edition of the Paris crossing in vintage vehicles.
