The Taversée de Paris en Anciennes is one of the biggest events in Paris for old car amateurs. For a morning, Paris streets are enlivened with old cars, motorbikes, bicycles, tractors, buses, light goods vehicles for a crazy ride finishing at the Château de Vincennes.
This Sunday July 22, 2018, departing from the Château de Vincennes, the procession of enthusiasts invites little ones and grown-ups to take part in a unique show in the heart of Parisian heritage, aboard one of the participating double-decker buses (reservation required, limited number of places – €10), or in one of the streets selected for the ride.
During the parade, all eras are represented: Rolls rubs shoulders with Citroën 2CV and motors rowing take us to another period of time! Over 30 vehicles expect your cameras for Vincennes en Anciennes!
This year, cinema and "Four Bag Fulls" carried out on screen by Claude Autant-Lara will be given pride of place. The parade will go through rue Poliveau (5th arrondissement) where the movie takes place, as well as quai Saint-Bernard, Pont de Sully, Ile Saint-Louis and Qu'ai d'Anjou.
So, you can then discover vehicles such as Citroën Traction, DS, Citroën 2CV or Peugeot 406. All these cars have been used in movies.
In addition to (movie) legendary vehicles, Driving through Paris aboard an old car will welcome Amicale Police Patrimoine with period police cars: restored 4CV, Dauphine Pie, Simca 1100, DS 19, Renault 12 Break Police and some "Hirondelles" for the most unique vehicles.
A 18-mi loop is planned, departing from the Château de Vincennes from 8 p.m. It will end at noon on the Observatory Terrace in Meudon where cars will be exhibited until 4 p.m. The terrace will turn into a picnic area for little and big amateurs' greates joy!
We'll find a camp which theme is Red Ball Express, a road conveying system used by Allies after the breakthrough marking the end of the war in Normandy, used between August 25 and November 16, 1944. Covering a loop from Chartres to Cherbourg, 28 allied divisions carried up to 12.500 tons of goods, supplies, fuel and munitions aboard Jeep, Half Track, GMC, Ward La France and Duck W!
Nostalgia is just around the corner, joy and surprise are on everyone’s faces. Crews and spectators share a complete moment of complicity…
